The Career Center, located in the Media Center, serves as a doorway to college admissions and career pathways. In conjunction with the Counseling Department, the Career Center provides a full range of college admission information and activities including the following:

- Guidebooks for parents
- College Admission Testing
- Registration Material
- Study Guides available for check-out
- Financial Aid Information
- FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Application and CSS/Financial Aid Profile
- Scholarship information and applications (local, community, national corporate scholarships)
- AP Exam study guides available for check-out
- Career and vocational planning information
- Military and Federal Service Academy Information
- Summer programs and internships
- Apprenticeship information
Services Provided:
- Work Permits for students under 18 years old
- Choices – a computer assisted career search
- Application assistance for students
- Workshops/Information Nights for students and parents throughout the year
- Grade appropriate checklists following the college admission timeline
- Admissions Representative Visits from over 20 colleges and universities across the nation
- Support for WCHS staff and teachers
Annual Events:
- Mock (practice) tests for the SAT and ACT, with Parent Information Seminar to follow
- Special Programs: College Information Night, PSAT Score Back Night, College Essay Workshop, and special events with guest speakers from institutions across the nation
- Financial Aid Night
- National Hispanic College Fair – field trip
Students and parents are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities available through the Career Center. All activities and events are posted on the school website and announced in the Daily Bulletin, and the Career Center Bulletin.
