Renaissance

President's Address

When people ask what Renaissance is, the answer you'll most often get is a leadership class. Ask what we do, and you'll hear that we reward and recognize. However, Renaissance can not be stated in such black and white terms. We are more than just officially a class or club; we are family, friends, homies, and teammates, sticking together through all we do. When rewarding and recognizing as many of our fellow bulldogs as we can, whether through Renaissance cards or events like Bulldog Idol and Battle of the Bands, in a way we are striving to make the Bulldog Experience as memorable as possible. Though there are many students and staff/faculty involved in a variety of activites on campus, creating a vastly interconnected network rich with life and success, most don't realize that by pouring their hearts out in everything they do and never giving up, they are really the ones that make West Covina High School so amazing. It is not just one individual or even one group's effort. In the Bulldog Puzzle, there are hundreds and hundreds of pieces, and we are always adding more. Renaissance is there to make light of that, to try and cause Bulldogs to take that step back and see the big picture. We are constantly learning, and every year is a year in which pieces may change or be rearranged, but let it be known that Renaissance will always be there to try and let every person know their worth. Renaissance may be defined as a class of around 30 hardworking students and 2 wonderful advisors, but the 3000+ students and staffulty at West Covina High School are what make Renaissance what it is. In Renaissance, every piece has its place. Here's to an amazing 2009-2010 school year.
